In a bit of a pickle, at the moment I work part time in the warehouse of a retail store. I get paid £8.50 an hour the job itself isn’t hard and I get a lot of free time, im usually in, off, in, off etc. I’m able to save so generally speaking the money’s not bad

I also have a side hustle painting historical miniatures (think warhammer) although it’s time consuming I make good money, enough for it to be worth doing and I enjoy it.

Now I recently started college to become a history teacher thought I’d follow my passion. The course I have to do involves sociology, philosophy, psychology, history and politics. I fucking hate it, only look forward to the history class.

Now once that finishes, I have about 6 months left I would have to do 2 math courses one after the other. I have always struggled with math, I’ve recently been attempting past papers and trying to understand it but to no avail. It just doesn’t click for me.

If I were to succeed it would take approx 6 years I’d be 30. I have no idea if I’m just wasting my time here following dreams or if I should keep grinding with work. Furthermore who’s to say I’d enjoy teaching? My history teacher in school said don’t do it, too stressful. Yet a friend who’s a teacher quite enjoys it.

I know we’re all different but I’m looking for some guidance in this situation. See college through, attempt math or grind it out in work. it would also be great if there are any teachers out there who could provide some input.
