Okay, a little background. 21 y.o, suffered from depression / anxiety for the past few years, social life suffered. Rejected a lot of women in the past 6-7 years due to depression / low self-esteem / fear.

For the past year, I worked on myself. Met new people, started socializing with people more, transformed my body from skinny-fat to athletic-lean, and my confidence is headed in the right direction.

I have this cute acquaintance i've known for years but we never talked. I always found her cute and I saw her many times look at me and regularly likes my stuff and goes to my IG stories. So i've been thinking of hitting her DM up, chatting a bit and asking her out for a coffee / cake / whatever, but i'm afraid of doing so.

I'm not afraid of rejection because I don't feel like i'm out of her league, I'm afraid of things going well. What if she says yes and is interested? I've never took initiative before, and I feel like i'd be freaked out and confused, like "holy shit what now, i can't go back now" but then again i'm tired of being alone and want to have my first girlfriend since i've wasted so many great opportunities before. I am also not used to flirting / dating with women I don't see on a daily basis.

TL;DR I like a girl. I think she likes me as well. I'm afraid of things going the right way and getting anxious about the whole "get a gf" process but i don't want to be alone either. What's the culprit? Is it my confidence or something else?
