Have been here for a while, maybe a week or two. Yes I read the side bar, reading TRM right now. I just have a general question. Many here throw out certain actions as alpha or beta as fuck. I understand the whole Alpha perspective.

Is keeping your frame, demanding respect and staying dominant as well as still being a gentleman (opening car doors, holding doors, flowers) and all that shit counterintuitive? Does the nice stuff you would do in a LTR counter the Captain-first mate dynamic or am I just thinking Alpha = dickhead?
