No. A soft next is when you withdraw all attention until she reaches out to you. This means if she doesn't initiate contact for 4 months, then you don't talk to her for 4 months. The ball is entirely in her court, and if she never uses it, then you never deal with her ever again.

The moment she reaches out to you, though, you continue on as if nothing happened. You don't bring it up. You just continue gaming her.

When it comes to an LTR, though, if she steps too far out of line, and/or she doesn't initiate in a reasonable time after a soft-next, then you need to re-evaluate her position. Those would be clear signals to demote her to FWB/plate level.
