My school has something called a National Honor Society. It is designed to recognize students who exemplify leadership, service, scholarship, and character. I just received a letter saying I was not selected.

I do, however, have a meeting scheduled with the principal to discuss it. (He wrote in the letter to schedule a meeting if you have further questions). I am hoping to use this meeting as a way to appeal this and see if I have a way in.

How should I approach this meeting, and any suggestions on what should I say and do?

The reason I am so vested in getting in is because it will have a major impact on college applications.
