I have approach anxiety and I have no idea why. I’ve had it for my entire like (M21). Whilst it has never really been an issue and I’ve always felt fine, it is starting to become a problem. I haven’t dated in about 2.5 years and I haven’t talked to a girl in about a year (prior to this I had several plates at all times). The problem lies in my new job. I just started as a personal trainer and as a part of my job, I need to find 15 long term (1year contract) clients to maintain maximum cash flow. If I don’t have clients, I make almost nothing. I am given times to search the floor for clients and approach them to offer advice / introduce myself. If a member is interested, I can offer them a free session then try to sell them. I’m perfectly fine when I have a client, but I can’t for the life of me approach a random person mid workout and offer advice. The gym doesn’t care how they respond and frankly neither do I, but I beat myself up over not being able to do such a simple task. Does anyone have advice as to what I can do to overcome this anxiety?
