How do you avoid being labeled as “creepy”? In Uni, had a date last semester that was mutually awkward, and she didn’t answer a follow up text. I assumed that was end of that. Apparently we have mutual friends, and she absolutely blasted me to everyone and anyone that we mutually know (and those I don’t even know) and made up things I did that were “super creepy” and “weird.” One of my closer friends told me about this, but it seems like an almost unavoidable unfortunate event. I see her every once in a while, but I don’t want to confront her about it or she could escalate to fabricating more allegations. I think best of course of action is to “kill her with kindness” and be friendly hoping she tones it down.
In another social group I’m a part of on campus a female told a girl that I was interested in I said she was “a hippo” and I wanted to ride her. They all told multiple girls about this and that I am creepy, and my friend told me when he heard about it. I was unaware of this when I asked her on a date a couple weeks ago and she refused surprisingly vehemently.
I said no such thing about hippos and riding and plan on denying this, but I don’t know what’s going on in these situations.
I am tall, very muscular, and have what I would consider fairly high SMV. I’m an athlete, not in frat, but invited and go to frat parties every weekend, get involved with HB6-HB8’s on a relatively consistent basis.
My guess is with Case 1 the girl is trying to show off I was ever interested, and with Case 2 some girl got jealous I was interested in someone else so started rumors. Just dont know if it is a “me” or a “them” thing. Input would be appreciated.
