I naturally have a quiet disposition, in general . I'll say hi but if I don't really know you I won't talk to you . My first year working my job I didn't Talk at all really. I feel like this makes some of my coworkers uncomfortable. To paint a picture I am a pretty intimidating dude 6'3 black ( no racism but you know what I mean) muscular , naturally serious face. I kinda feel left out because I don't really talk to my other coworkers my age because of this (20's) . I feel like the girls on my job don't like me because I'm not among the popular coworkers . They all will hang out and post snaps and I'm not part of this simply because I'm a quiet person and we don't know each other.

On one hand I don't really care because I would rather keep my work and personal life separate but on the other I feel like I'm left out when they talk about their weekends. What should I do ? This year I started chatting up everyone ( I get along with all my 30's and 40's coworkers) and for the most part but I kinda feel like the Damage is done because when I do interact with the 20-something's it's usually very short and serious. If I had to be honest I don't really have much in common with the guys that I could possibly be friends with ( they just drink , have beer guts, don't work out, and we have nothing much in common) and the girls, I just would want to have sex with but even then I think it's because of the shortage of good looking girls at my job ( they are poor dressers , not interesting , and average at best).

So my questions are how should I proceed next? Being desperate for people to like you is Beta, I just want to know what the next step an alpha would take?
