I would never take a girl out on an expensive date for the first one. Also, first round of drinks are on her if she comes late to the date. If not, she pays for her drinks and I’ll pay for mine, we’re both there for the same reason, no need to try to “make it up to her” buy paying for shit.

Don't take them somewhere that this is an issue in the first place.

If it's coffee, I'd pay because honestly splitting the bill for a $4 coffee is more hassle than just shouting it.

If it's drinks, you can alternate rounds.

Best to talk about it beforehand, depends on if it is higher than you wanted it to be and if you plan on using it to get in her pants.

No it will not get you any closer to her, yes it is alright to pay for a woman, but it is not alright to lord that shit over her.

I split it. If a woman absolutely, positively insists on paying the whole date I'll let her, and then drinks/next date is on me. I have never, and will never, cover my dates expenses on a first date. It helps weed out the gold-diggers too.

There's nothing more lethal to a woman during the date when you say "Seperate checks/tabs" to the server.

It immediately sets the tone she isn't special, Her mind races from zero to hundred in a second. Besides, she's already decided in the first three minutes if she's going to fuck you.

Picking up the tab only says one thing: "You're attractive and I'm interested and willing to provide for you because of that".

Women are interested in the men that won't buy them shit, not the ones who do.

Case and point: I was at a hotel bar sitting next to a HB8.5, she was getting cocks thrown at her left and right. I sat quietly, minding my own business playing poker on my phone, watching a game and enjoying my drinks. She struck up a conversation finally, talking about her pokerface. I told her "You have a pretty good one, judging by how you handled the sausage convention a bit ago". Her drink is empty and she points to it, I ignore it and shift my eyes back to my phone. She finally asks "Aren't you going to buy me a drink?", Looking her in the eyes I said "No" and went back to playing poker. We hooked up the whole weekend.

TL;DR Don't pay for her, even if it's two bucks.
