Currently 19 y/o with good diet/modest supplements/active lifestyle/lifting/good sleep - essentially, no cause for concern. I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and have only ever gotten two bloodtests: once for mono, another time for suspected vitamin D deficiency (that was positive; they recommended 2k IU daily vitamin D for a month then never even followed up with a blood test... SMH, been taking 5-6k IU daily ever since).

I really want to get some bloodtests done to 1) get a baseline for the future (for old age/sickness/steroid use), 2) see if there are any optimizations to be made or vitamins/nutrients I'm lacking, and 3) see if I have any weird issues I don't know about.

Last visit, I suggested to my doctor that I'd like some blood tests done for a base line, but he said that was silly. Well, I really want blood tests done for all the above reasons and I really want to see the numerical results, I'm way over trusting my healthcare to a general doctor. I'm planning on insisting this time.

Any tips on convincing him (and thus getting it covered by health insurance) to do these blood tests? What tests do I even want to run for the above concerns?

Sidenote: I'm super prone to getting sore throats, respiratory colds and sicknesses; my average daily energy seems pretty shit compared to other people and my family despite otherwise good health/diet/sleep/working out/sports/etc; and I'm always coughing up lots of phlegm/sputum/mucus throughout the day. Any leads? Already been tested for allergies (mild dust mite allergy) and tried treatment for that, no impact.
