Hey RP. Long time reader seeking advice. I was just attrited from naval pilot training. It's something I would have loved to do and had my family and friends cheering me one. I could've worked harder and probably made it. I definitely need to work on my willpower.

I have a thousand thoughts going on in my head now. I had a "master plan", of retiring from the military with a good pension or flying airlines for great money afterwards. Now that won't happen.

Now all my family and friends will know I didn't make it through flight school. It's hard on my ego. I have a younger brother who graduated number one in mechanical engineering from West Point, and is now being payed by the army to get his masters from MIT. He's always been the higher achiever. It sucks to be second best and to now feel like I can never catch up to that. I have an average gpa from a good school. He will get out and make a high six figure salary.

I know I need to build more willpower, but at the moment I feel completely defeated and hopeless. I don't know if they'll keep me in the navy and move me to another job or just let me go. Just looking for good advice. Thanks.
