This will be broken up into three dates. After the last one I don't plan on texting her again, but am looking for anything I could have done better.

I'm still fairly new to this area I live in. No family or friends here, it's just where I got a decent job. I haven't put myself out dating much... so this was (at first) a welcome change.

A coworker and his wife invited me bowling with his wives friend from law school. I show up, we get along fine. I make some stupid jokes, make strong eye contact with a smirk, and touch her arm when talking to her. Near the end of the night, we are all talking in the parking lot. I don't think I have much game, I'm just direct. We say bye, and she starts walking away towards her car. I walk over to her, say "hey stacy*, it was nice meeting you", and give her a hug. She gives me a "half hug".

At this point, I don't think shes very interested. I was going to ask for her number, but that half hug turned me away. My co worker asks how it went, and I told him shes either really shy or not interested. He comes by later saying she would love to go on another date with me and he gives me her number. I text her saying I'm free thursday and sunday to go out.... she says either. I pick sunday, then she also says, "well are you free thursday for drinks".

So we meet Thursday for drinks. It went great. We hit it off. At the end she even offered to split the bill and at this point i thought that was a kind gesture and she was pretty cool, so I take the bill. We go outside, I pull her in, and we make out. At this point I'm pretty happy and thinking, "Always assume attraction".

Sunday comes around and I say she will help me cook (I like to cook), and I'll help her bake (she likes to bake) at my place. She comes over and just brought donuts from a donut shop. Even got a variety since she wasn't sure what I liked. No big deal. I started cooking the enchiladas and guac, and had two cutting boards out. I give her some stuff to cut, and she sits on my counter and says she won't help. She thought I was just going to cook for her. At this point I just think she's playing around. So I lift her off my counter, put the knife in her hands, and with a smile, I tell her she needs to cook.

She helps but complains a little. Then I give her cilantro to chop and she just says she won't, and I should do it. I'm already cutting stuff so I tell her that this part is her job. She just eats some of the guac I made. I make a joke about that childrens book with the hen who makes bread, and if she wants to eat, she need to help cook. She is not just getting a free meal and passively watch me cook for her. She says I'm taking this too seriously, etc.

So i put the cilantro away. We didn't even use it. She did fry some tortillas when it came to that, but made comments about how the enchiladas would be better with cilantro. I just say, "yea, they would be". I tried pulling her in for a kiss while she wouldn't cut the veggies, and she turns it down, saying something along the lines of "maybe if you cook".

We eat, watch some netflix. I go for the kiss and we make out on a couple occasions. The second time, I'm feeling her breasts and legs, and stand her up. Then pick her up. When I put her down, she goes to the bathroom. Comes out, and puts her shoes on to leave. She leaves. I don't think she wanted me to escalate past making out or something.

I don't plan on texting her again. I thought the whole cooking fiasco was disrespectful. She drove 45 minutes to my place, so I'm surprised she would do that for just a free meal. Maybe she was testing me to see what she could get away with. I'm really not sure as the whole situation seems really bizarre. I actually can't believe it happened.

Is anyone with more experience able to read between the lines here? I got mixed signals but I know longer plan to pursue. Should I have done anything different that would have led to a better outcome? Could it have been an honest miscommunication?

Edit: I texted her. Said I think there was a miscommunication sunday, and I thought itd be fun to do something together since we hit it off on thursday. Now I feel like I was needy for sending that and I made me look weak. fuck.

Edit 2: her response: "What do you mean by miscommunication? I had a really great time on Thursday too, but I felt like you didn’t try to get to know me at all on Sunday and acted disrespectful in terms of how I want to be treated by a guy. I don’t mean for that come off harsh, but we should probably just stay friendly for now rather than anything more". I texted her back saying sorry if I was disrespectful or made her feel uncomfortable. And if she wants to go out get to know each other better. I'm really not down to just be "friends" with her though, if that is what she wants.

To add, I did slap her ass during the night. Maybe she's not into that
