I have a (very) long distance relationship with a chick I met abroad, I know it's a big no-no in TRP, but I've grown real emotional about her.
We've spent together total time of about two month, and around 8 months of video chatting.
At the last time we've spent together, I've come to the conclusion that this relationship is not really functioning (while we're fighting), and I feel a little bit used financially - shared a week vacation, paid for everything since she claims not to have money, and during this time we fought a lot and I've felt like I'm throwing my money and my time down the toilet, during the last days of the trip the things were good between us and now I can notice she's making a real effort to communicate she's willing to change and she really wants this relationship.
The thing is logically I'm pretty sold on the fact that this relationship won't work, but emotionally I really love this chick, and the next step is for her to move in with me in my country, which will put a financial strain on me.
I don't know how to break up, this is my first relationship (approaching 29, the chick is 25) and I really really don't want to hurt her, but I don't see myself sharing a future with her.
Basically I'm afraid of being backed into a relationship I don't logically want for emotional reasons.
How do you plow through the emotional hurdle? I feel extreme responsibility for this girl and I really want her to have a happy life and fulfill herself, but this relationship makes me less happy.
