I'm 22 and been talking to a Canadian woman of 30 for about a year now. I'm from Europe and we met on Twitter and I wanted to see her at one point. I've always wanted to go to Canada because I have family history there and I would meet a friend.

We skype, we message each other via text or audio and tweet each other a lot.

Now, I finally have some money and time to go to Canada at the beginning of last month (July). The closer the date comes the more she seems unruly.

About a month or maybe a little more, she goes into a relationship with a guy who was orbiting her. I know of him but he is a complete beta and never thought she would get into a LTR with him.

All of a sudden, and perhaps rightly so, the BF has a problem with me coming over there because there were feelings there, on both sides (or so she had me believe). Long story short, I cancel the trip, having lost 70 euros to that passport.

I will probably never meet her in person after this. And the messaging has dwindled, the skype sessions always come from my side now, she's always busy and of course there is an 8 hour time difference. I understand if she's busy but to have no to time ever answer with the smallest of messages insults me. Her bringing up her BF when we do talk, I belittle him (and their relationship).

So I'm thinking of not talking to her anymore and ending our 'friendship' because it's one-sided and me not going over there really changed the dynamics of it. But mostly I want to know this: Why the fuck would she start a LTR when she knew I was going over there (and her BF would have problems with me, which I do understand)? I asked her this last question and she said it happened naturally and I overthink it. I just don't believe her anymore.
