You should assume she's interested, never ask it. I think your opener is ok, and it work most of the times. But after you got the feedback you have to start leading the conversation, making her reactive to you and providing emotion to the interaction. When she said "really?" i'd hit her with something like "Well ,depends if you're a (X girly thing) fan. Arent you?" Give her space to quialify herself to you. That's the basic idea.

If you want a really good answer, do it over and over again.

Rejection? Yes, you let her lead the conversation. It is like you were asking " can we be friend?" to someone, very honestly. If you bring that in the right way, would work, but you're stressed, so stressed you just took the talking stick and then said take it please, I don't know what I'm doing.

Just do it again, without that "I'm seeking approval" behavior like "yes, so are you interested?".

Look for push n pull (side bar), never give her the lead. This is subtle, you might wanna look for some reading about taking the lead.

You actually had her attracted for a second there. When you Sat down next to her and opened direct. That's what her smirk was it was "oh yeah? I'll give you a chance. What you got" but then you dropped the ball. You needed to start qualifying and teasing her. Ask her where she's going, make fun of her for being alone, ask her where she's from, rip on her for that, add kino in there, get her to hold your hands start looking her in her eyes intensely and try and kiss her.

But you expected everything to be solved after the open. Here's a hint: the opener doesn't matter. What matter is what you do after it. You dropped the ball in her court and she wasn't running with it, so the interaction died out. You didn't even get rejected, you just left because she didn't start making out with you after knowing you for 5 seconds.

When you approach try and stay in there longer, try and learn about who she is and get familiar with teasing girls and sexual escalation (eye contact, kino, vocal tonality etc.) And don't pressure a girl to decide whether she likes you or not right off the bat. The only time I'd do that is if there's no way we're fucking that night (logistically) and I need to get her to invest enough to meet up again another day. But that situation is vastly different than 5 seconds after the open.

Try reading No More Mr Nice Guy. That'll be the best advice you can find.

Try not to get lost in the rabbit hole of techniques and methods and all that nonsense, just keep going outside and going for it. You can figure it out yourself if you keep going. Ask yourself where you want to go in life and bring yourself there, that's all that matters.
