Had a mate who works for a ticket company and he was able to set me up with a couple of free tickets to a local festival/concert in town. This only happened the day before the concert so the morning of, I texted a girl from my social circle who we had recently been showing me minor IOIs. "Hey come to ----- with me tonight, ive got free tickets" "Okay yeah im down what time" Then a little logistic discussion and left it there.
She missed the train we were supposed to get (we live not too far apart) by about 10 seconds, but I got on anyway since I won't keep my mate with the tickets waiting. She came on the next train and that was all good.
From 6pm to 8pm we had a blast, food, markets, music. I dropped kino here and there and she seemed to respond well. She initiated a number of sexual conversations and clearly threw a number of shit tests at me that I either ignored or A&Ad. Overall I had a good time and it seemed like she did too.
At around 8 we found seats for the main concert and she was still close, leaning in to speak and making conversation. Now at this point I put my arm around her onto her shoulder as I was pointing something out in the distance and she laughed and took my hand off saying something like "your hand is sweaty I can't hahaha". I laughed it off and didn't make a fuss out of it, at the time thinking it's just another shit test to see how far I would go.
Now from here is where her actions (over her words) start to go to shit. During the show she started texting her friends (a couple of people one of which is a past hookup of mine). I managed to get a glimpse of her texts and basically she was telling them how shes "STUCK AT THE BLOODY ----- CONCERT". Basically saying she wasn't having a good time. I didn't react and kept acting like I was before.
Soon after through a close friend of mine I found out that the girl in question was telling her friends that it was awkward and she wasn't keen on it. I cut the night about 20 minutes short saying that we should "beat the crowd" and she actually said she wants to stay. Which is completely the opposite of what she's texting people right there next to me. I said we should really go since the trains are going to be full and she followed.
Why act interested and go in the first place with minimal resistance if a hand in the shoulder is going to make you feel awkward. Where did I go wrong?
