Just started a new job recently. Small group of people in a kitchen environment. 1 girl working among about 7 guys at a time or so and most of them have been there for 1+ years save for me and another guy.

I'm at the register and change the receipt paper cuz its emptied. The girl comes up and goes "Did you take the empty cartridge out?" and I said "No i left it in there." I had a huge smile on my face as i said this, with a hint of sarcasm, but not much. I made it totally obvious I was kidding. but she looks at me and goes "Ok be an assshole". I shrugged it off.

Later on were all joking around and i mocked her in a playful voice because Idgaf and I wasn't gonna wait like a month to build more rapport before I started busting peoples chops. But she bugs out and yells "No shut the fuck up. You just started here. you don't have permission to be mocking me." again i shrugged it off and maintained frame and kept working. But over the next hour she talked shit about me to other coworkers. I heard it but didn't acknowledge it cuz fuck her I wasn't gonna give her the satisfaction.

Later on she started talking to me again. A few times it seems like the fact that i didn't let any of it bother me got her intrigued and she would smile at me as she said certain things but I can't tell.

Should I have done anything differently? If so what? all insights and advice welcome

Edit: I'm a new RPer and not so good at adequately verbalizing and describing the terminology of what happened today.
