Exclusive for 9 months. Things are overall great. But she’s getting needy.

I’m cool with seeing her 2-3 times per week, because I have other shit to do, but for the last few months she wants to meet nearly every day, and I have to politely decline, standing my ground.

She never took me declining to meet her in a bad way, until a few days ago. She was already emotional from something else (an insane roommate) when she asked to meet, and I again declined. She then started crying, telling me she feels like she always has to beg to see me. I basically said that I understand, but I’m busy, then changed the subject. But this will come up again.

She also started suggesting we move in together. I don’t want that in the foreseeable future. I said that it’s possible, but we’ll consider it in 6 months, after she finishes the first semester of med school, which starts soon (I don’t want to make any commitment before I get to evaluate this relationship with her as a student, I don’t know how it will affect the relationship). This too will probably come up again.

On one hand, I know I can’t settle for my happiness to make her happy. I don’t want to see her daily. I don’t want to live with her. I need to be true to what I want. On the other hand, I feel like I need to handle this better. She obviously feels very shitty about our different expectations.

What do you think?
