You shouldn't have left the room... but I don't see any other choice. If you're staying with them then they have power over you. If you have money for a hotel then I'd ask my family to leave the room and make it absolutely clear that he would never disrespect you like that again or there would be consequences. If he doesn't go along with it then get right in his face. If he continues then punch the mother fucker in his gut and pull your family out of the situation. Zero tolerance. If you back down you're doing exactly what he wants. If he has power over you then you have no choice. Never let others hold power over you.

If you're afraid of the consequences, like maybe you think he'll press charges against his husband's son, then you need to go full Machiavellian on him instead. Find dirt, keylog his computer and find out if he's cheating or doing drugs, bait him into hitting you, record private conversations... compile evidence and mindfuck him by dropping hints at dinner after you've gathered enough evidence. Play him against your father, plant evidence for your father to find that makes it look like he's being cheated on...

He's using power games, and we're living in a world where violence even for the honor of your family is illegal. Just be better at his game than he is... or learn to let it go.

Edit: other approaches

Dismissive confrontational: call him princess and laugh at him like he's a bratty 10 year old girl. That's the easiest thing to do.

Agree and amplify: You're right buddy. I'm totally whipped. Then grab your wife and passionately make out with her right in front of him and spank her ass.

Dismissive nonconfrontational: Talk over him, change the subject, answer his questions with random answers, turn to your wife and talk about something else.
