depends on the situation, but if its a women I treat it as I would a child, sounds ridiculous right? so are women

If I ignore the behavior, I turn passive-aggressive. They can then sense that I don't want to talk with them, etc. Which is right, because I always feel like a chump by letting things slide.
It's only passive aggressive if you do it to change their behavior. Cutting someone out is perfectly valid if you're doing it because it's best for you.
It also sets the correct frame for any discussion on the topic. "Why did you walk away."
Beta: "Your behavior is totally unacceptable."
Alpha: "I don't need someone like you helping me."
