Went out as a group of four guys to a restaurant where one of my ex girlfriends work. One guy in the group is the "lovable clown" type/jokester that has no fear of engaging girls and knows how to make them laugh. Not a bad looking guy, but no style. (Wore dirty cargo shorts, t-shirt, mid length white socks with dirty sneakers). I am also higher SMV than he is, three years younger with a better job (he's 30 working as a butcher at a supermarket), I'm better looking and in better shape.

However, this guy just does not give a fuck. He is loud, says ridiculous shit here and there, pounds on the table, yells out the car window at people on the street and I'm sure it's all to get laughs. At the restaurant my ex and another of her waitress friends seemed pretty amused by him and would initiate conversation with him and laugh at pretty much everything he did. He definitely took the lead in the group. Another one of my buddies made the comment "they both want to fuck him right now".

The best way to handle this guy that I came up with on the spot was to engage the guy a little bit, ask him some questions (I just met him that night), laugh at his jokes and antics. I definitely made sure not to bad mouth him behind his back or anything like that, but it seemed impossible to take the lead in this group because I am more of the strong quiet type, and trying to outdo or out clown this guy would have been over the top and rediculous. He definitely outshined me though.

The guy fell apart at the end of the night, got too drunk and was trying to start stupid fights and basically made a complete ass out of himself, but the girls weren't around to see it.

How would a red pill, alpha male handle this situation? I'm hoping to learn from this so I can better deal with guys like this in the future.
