Around here, when you are at your 20s, it's pretty common for people to ask what you do for college. Since I'm doing art school (for free) purely as a hobby and personal fulfillment, I found out that telling this to people usually got much more positive responses than saying you like to sit on a computer and make software all day.

One game method that I learned from Roosh was that you can throw vague statements to gauge a girl's investment in the conversation to see if they will ask you something. And that works most of the time.

So I make them ask me about college, which I reply with the art degree and show her some of my works (painting, drawings, etc). If she asks for more information, I tell her about the experience and personal thoughts. One of them loved it.

But now I'm concerned if I'm trying too much to qualify for them. Like, I don't know how to demonstrate value or that I have things going on in my life without sounding like bragging. Now, I'm not a really attractive guy, it will take a year or more to get a good physique but I try to dress well and be properly groomed. But for now, I want to improve my conversation skills.

So, what's your thoughts on the original question and the context described above? I really appreciate your answers.
