At a group meal and this girl I’m friends with would occasionally make eye contact and smile at me for a few seconds. I’d raise my eyebrows at her, then she eventually said “why do you always do that, I don’t know what to respond” in a friendly, curious way, not a demeaning way.

I just replied “I didn’t expect a response”

Instead of raising my eyebrows, better way to escalate? She must be dtf staring at me and smiling like that...
