After consuming TRP, I adjusted to the things that actually matter, and dismissed the things that didn't.

Things like gymming and proper nutrition were always important to me, but never to this extent. Things like television, gaming, mindless consumption of the Internet, suddenly began to seem like a waste of time, and no longer gave me the fulfillment and satisfaction that comes with self-improvement. While I still try to give everyone a fair chance, and am a friendly person by nature, people that don't live up to my standards, and don't really contribute anything concrete to my life, suddenly became acquaintances and no longer worthy of my time.

My neurological pathways have been rebuilt over time of living this new lifestyle. The stimulus I get from playing a game, or watching a TV show, no longer cuts it for me. It doesn't fulfill me much like hitting a PR does, or learning more about the world does. In fact, it kinda seems boring and lame. It seems like a waste of time. Most things seem like a waste of time.

So when I'm out in a social gathering, with friends and acquaintances, I feel a strong disconnect. I've assessed my encounters with other people honestly and truthfully, and realized I'm presenting myself as somewhat of a bore, a negative person -- because I simply am not interested in the latest "New Girl" episode or what happened in the new "Inside Out" movie. My standards and threshold for stimulus have almost become higher than the average individual, and now I seek things higher up on Maslow's Pyramid, things like self-actualization, innovation, etc. I'm like the grumpy old man that sits in the corner and am not satisfied or interested in anything the young kids are up to.

It's worth mentioning that I'm twenty, which is a relatively young age to already have this level of self-awareness, and goal-oriented mindset that TRP inevitably instills upon young men.

I know what I need to do to fix this (and yes, it is indeed an issue that needs to be "fixed"). I don't intend to go against my virtues and consume media that simply don't interest me, but I do intend to be more optimistic and curious about everything, to be genuinely interested in other people because I believe that your experiences with everyone can teach you something about yourself.

But I do want to open this discussion to other TRP men. Do you feel a certain level of disconnect from the world? Do you feel you no longer are able to connect with people due to a very different worldview and mindset (i.e. we now prioritize self-improvement and our own precious time, rather than watching the new movie or gossiping about other people at work)?

To conclude my point, I believe that it is of utmost importance to prioritize your goals, and your time, over all else. But I do believe that having social intelligence, and developing a desirable reputation within your social circle, is essential for any successful and powerful man. One should be seen in a favorable light amongst peers, and mingle well in a workplace or college environment. (Law 38: think as you like but behave like others).
