I'm 26, she's 25. Knew girlfriend for 2 years, relationship for 9 months. It has been a great LTR, very honest person (I double check when she tells me stuff), great sex, I get along with her very well, her family really likes me, and she has given me no reason to believe she will ever cheat. She has recently started talking about babies, and her family (with whom I spend more time than my own family) is starting to make subtle references about marriage.

All is good, except she is going on a solo trip to India and Nepal from Jan 18 to Feb 4 (2 weeks). For me, that means automatically breaking up. As the saying goes, the difference between a girlfriend traveling abroad and a cheater is 2 beers.

But here's the catch - she's filthy rich. Her parent's home is worth about 3.5 - 4 million, so I imagine their net worth is even bigger. By consequence, she's bound to inherit somewhere from 2 to 3 million at some point in life. Let alone the fact that they have houses abroad, her dad is a good connection to have, and her parents will aid her financially if we were to stay together.

In comparison, I am making 70k per year and I have savings of 30k. I might inherit something but probably no more than 400k I would guess. I come from a middle class family and I have always wanted to break into upper class, so her status is a huge, gigantic plus for me.

Anyways, I am torn. I think it's a rather safe bet that 9 times out of 1, a girl will cheat if she is traveling. If I am given those odds, I should break up. On the other hand, her status and wealth may make me turn a blind eye as if I proceed with establishing my life with this woman, my life/livelihood would be more or less set and secure. And even if I did break up, I don't think I can punch so far above my weight in terms of status.

Has anyone been in this predicament? The red pill is telling me to break up but the machiavellian in me is telling me to take the odds for the sake of status and wealth, and turn a blind eye. I really don't know what to do, and I have to make my mind up fast, within a month.
