I question your logic. I can't even figure out all the assumptions you're making here to make that make sense.

Three things need to be dealt with here:

Learn to use "there" "their" and "they're" correctly.
I have no idea how your social situation is going to work regarding your class, or any information on this chick's personality. So I can't tell you if pump and dump is safe here. I look at these things as something where you take the disqualification approach. E.g. if she is crazy, you don't sleep with her. If there is a possibility that she might fuck with your social situation, you don't sleep with her. Anything other than a disqualification approach is anti-abundance mentality because since there are loads of other chicks out there, no level of risk, even small, is worth it since there's plenty of no-risk options.
She interacts with you outside of school walking home. Women like free attention? Well, I think we'd better make a post on the main sub about this astonishing discovery!!! This is beta talk about attraction. You want to know if she's attracted? Just escalate. If you told me you were touching her thigh and escalating to that sort of level with positive body language coming back from her... then I'd say she's definitely interested. The reality is, you haven't done anything that an orbiter couldn't do and mis-read.

Additional note: You should have laughed at them calling you besties and declared it "gay." Frankly that sounded more to me like she's putting you in the beta box. her friends aren't jealous because they want to fuck you. her friends are jealous because she has acquired yet another beta orbiter. if she's exaggerating, it's not because she has some secret plan to fuck you. she's exaggerating because she wants the other girls in her clique to think she has already successfully captured orbiter #904 even if you aren't entirely hooked yet.
