My game plan for pulling at parties is to stay about two drinks behind everyone else at all times. That being said, I'll typically limit my drinking depending on the alcohol available. Rule of thumb is 2 beers or one shot will put you in a good, stressfree place to pull. Depends on your tolerance though as well.
