You are not your job. I think your ego is a little too preoccupied with the engineering label. Women tend to not care about that at all, so don't bore them.

Lift, talk to people, talk to girls, soon you'll find talking to girls of any age and beauty is not actually special or scary at all.

This is the other part of the effect.... talented individuals believe they have less knowledge than they do because they see so much of the bigger picture.

What advice do you have to counter this effect?

You can learn AND be confident and cocky. Just don't learn directly from her. In the short term, it's important not to have a learning frame as this is kinda submissive. She says "you have to do X", and you say "that's interesting, let me think if this is a good idea or not" ??? Nah, you say "suuuuuuuuuuure I do..... surrrrrrrrre" and don't learn anything from her. But afterwards and in general you learn and progress. Make sense?

High five. Did you ever got shit tested on that? I've heard "you don't sound like an engineer, you talk too right" twice.

My issue with game is I took it too seriously. I used to think game was something I could only practice in clubs, and I hate clubs, so, I couldn't really be outcome independent. I was there to pick up a chick, so, if I didn't, I had failed.
Turns out, you can do it everywhere. That made the whole concept easier, I got some outcome independence, and now I'm starting to dig clubs because I'm pretty sure I'll pick up some chick should I want to.

Frame and presentations wise, I like Mystery a lot. He taught us something about game. It doesn't matter who you are, what matters is how you deliver it. It doesn't matter a lot that you're a well read engineer or a contractor, just how you deliver it. Play and test it, it's actually beautiful to see how it evokes different reactions.

(Do lift though, be attractive. lol)

Dunning-Kruger only applies to stupid people. It's ok to have confidence if you're not actually stupid.
