The core of RP theory is that you should always be doing what YOU want. Other people are free to whine and complain that you're not prioritizing them enough, but in the end, you should set and enforce those boundaries. Prioritize yourself first.

Use AA/AM responses to deal with people who whine. Eventually, you can put them into time-out, or even soft-next them.
