I have been wondering why handsome men are given the greatest social status and their pick of women. The main aspects of masculinity are strength, courage, and skill, but an ugly man who could easily kill a good looking man isn't given the respect you would think. What role does handsomeness play in our evolution? Why did our female ancestors like handsome men so much even when they were struggling to survive and needed strength and courage more than anything else?
