Eyes are the mirror of the soul.
What I noticed is that women, in contrast to men, quite openly look you in the eyes when they pass you by in the streets. Even with couples, it happens that the guy looks somewhere while she is looking you straight in the face. Sometimes almost brazen.
When I get checked out and eyed up so openly, especially when she has the possibility to 'hide behind her boyfriend' this makes me rather uneasy and almost a little aggressive, than calm and friendly. Which in turn makes it hard to remain a calm, open and friendly face and let's me walk around with a resting bitch face syndrome in response. And that's not good..
Secondly, does this 'never break eye contact first' rule mainly apply to interactions with women? I get it that it is part of the alpha frame to be able to look her calm and friendly into the eyes, not breaking eye contact and not giving a fuck. BUT, if you apply this rule with men and have little stare down contests with them or even with some low life dudes who walk past by you, I imagine that things could escalate. I noticed that rather these guys, low in education and society, like women in general, feel the need to look you open and brazen in the eyes. Why would you need to 'never brake eye contact first' in these situations? Let this random have his little win and a boost for his ego. It is one thing, to never step back from a fight, it is another, provoking them.
