Thoughts on why/why not? And how you can come up with one?

For me, it's really because I'm really paranoid with the privacy thing. I don't like the idea of Facebook having access to my PMs, pictures, AND my real name associated with it. And any kind of bullshit you say online, is probably kept somewhere, and your name is linked to it. I'd rather not add to Facebook's database. Or Google. Or something. Yeah, I'm paranoid!

And also because I don't want girls looking me up on Google. When you search my name, all you find is a link to a now deleted profile on a question/answer site, and my profile (w/picture) at a non-profit I volunteered at. But within a few years, there'll be more. I'd rather avoid crazy stalkers while I can. It's easier to disappear if I used a fake name on Facebook.

I've seen some people who only have one name listed there. So I may try to figure out how to do the same, and only use a short hand form of my first name or a variation of it. So, Daniel --> Dan, or Frank --> Francis.
