You weren't able to go back to one of your coop employers? I'd expect ECE to be one of the most employable disciplines at Waterloo. Go to the Bay Area, lots of tech money there.

Dude. You've got all the right stuff. It sounds like you just need to build up that self esteem and confidence. I went to my local library today and visited the self-improvement and education section. There were a bunch of books about how to nail interviews and practice questions and things like that. I recommend practicing through resources like that and prepare yourself for wow'ing any future employers and letting them know how valuable you are. Interviewing is basically marketing yourself and selling your skills. Believe in yourself, do all the right things (actively apply, actively research companies you are applying to, bring the best resume you can build to the table, practice for interview questions, network, etc.) and you got it. I don't have any engineering-specific advice for you. Be careful not to stay out of the workplace too long. Phone calls are better than emails or online apps. Use LinkedIn to make contact with people who might hire rather than the girls in HR. Ask for informational interviews ("can I come in and get your perspective on the industry and how to launch my career?"). If nothing pops up, even doing an unpaid internship creates a notch on your CV and is better than nothing. Good luck!
