Flaking once or twice can actually build interest. But I wouldn't say do it continuously or the iron might grow cold. Also, if a girl flakes on you, never initiate contact with her first. Wait as long as you need to for her to reach out to reschedule.

the idea is that if you tolerate it once she will do it again. I like to set the frame that flaking isn't tolerated. It shows disrespect of time and lack of character. so I essentially next a girl that flakes unless she reaches out again to reschedule. keeps balls in your court

It's fine to contact a chick after a flake, but do it when it's convient to you (a week or whatever time). Though 80% of the time there'll be no response either way.

I like some of the comments on this but I never flake. If you don't want to be flaked on, do not flake on others.

I second this. If you have a valid excuse to miss your date, let her know as soon as possible, and offer to reschedule. Don't simply stand someone up, that's shitty.

I wouldn't flake, even with a plate. If I say I'm going to show up, I'm showing up.
If you feel like flaking will draw out whether or not she's into you, you got much more base line problems going on here. If you feel like your commitments with Sally Saturday and Selena Sunday are making you sacrifice too much of your own time you need to stop making those plans with Sally and Selena.
And yeah, if it's the platiest of plates I'd have to ask why you're even doing anything with her if you think nothing of flaking on her. Bad fruit gets cut from the tree.

You should be unafraid to flake but not do it intentionally.
It's probably not worth it with a woman you don't know (more chance of pissing her off than increasing interest), but you'll have to do it sometimes if you get inundated with options.
You should occasionally cancel at short notice with a woman you see regularly. She needs some amount of emotional angst to fully trigger her attraction.
