Hey everyone, So, I made a post a few days about my former oneitus. Essentially, I recounted my relationship with her, went through some of my mistakes, but missed plenty too. A few commenters gave me some suggestions, so thanks. I’ve spent the last few days reading the sidebar and field reports. I also working out, though I’m honestly not in bad shape. Strangely enough, I didn’t go through the anger stage or anything like that. These principles make a lot of sense and I’ve directly observed and even used some myself in the past. I haven’t put anything into practice because I’m on spring break, but I’ve come to a few realizations
In my post, I talked about a girl that was into me (not my oneitus), but ended up saying no when I asked her out. Through the sidebar, I found that
- She liked me because of the confidence/aloofness I exemplified around her; she was in my Spanish class, and I speak Spanish near fluently, thus I was generally very joking/not serious in there. I regularly cracked jokes and was all around a fun presence
- When I started talking to her, I continued this attitude (initially). Didn’t text her back too fast, wouldn’t get too absorbed. Practiced push/pull with teasing because I legitimately didn’t care. I was at best moderately into her and was honestly toying with her. 2a) She often said some “indescribable quality” lead her to seek my companionship (she never explicitly said she was into me). I know understand it was bc if the idgaf attitude I had around her. I presented myself as alpha.
- Things started to go downhill when I got needy. I would get annoyed if she didn’t respond fast enough. I’d require her to text me at certain points in the day. I became controlling/possessive.
- Even though I wasn’t too attracted to her, I regularly complimented her appearance. This really lowered my SMV. I went from a guy who could have anyone he wants to being a little obsessed. I lost my frame. I should have kept letting her chase me 5)I never did any kino. I effectively ignored her in person, to the extent where it was almost a little awkward to talk to her. Huge mistake, likely my biggest one.
TL;DR I used a ton of TRP principles without even knowing they existed. They worked, but eventually I went back to my beta self and fucked it up.
Anyways, I’d love to know if my analysis on that was mostly accurate based on the information I presented. It’s comforting knowing I’m completely capable of following TRP principles
Next thing is how do I invoke TRP principles in a high school environment? For example, a common thing I see is setting the time and place for a date. However, since I’m a year younger than all my peers, so I can’t drive, plus they have to ask their parents (as do I). Should I just set a time and place and leave it to her to change?
Also, the school year is nearly over, so people’s relatively beta image of me is likely burned into their minds. Will acting according to TRP be enough? How do I find new targets?
Approaching is the other big thing. Pretty much the only opportunity I’d have to do that is during lunch, since I can’t drive or do anything in particular for myself. However, it’s difficult to infiltrate the friend groups that have been established already. Plus, I’d like to enjoy my lunch with my friends to a degree. Again, any tips on where else I could look? There are no huge sporting events this time of year; spring sports aren’t hugely attended by the student body.
On that note, prom is coming up. I bought a prettty nice suit, since I’m close to done growing and I’ve need one for a while. Although, since I’m working out now, may not have been the best call lol. Still, I’ll look my absolute best there. Any tips on approaching/picking up girls in that environment?
That’s mostly it. Essentially, I’m looking on how to apply TRP in situations that are a bit different from what y’all experience. I’ll add to this as I get responses, as I hope it serves as a guide for others like me. Thanks in advance.
