Just wanted to get your guys' opinion on something I've been doing as of late. I'm fairly popular in my graduate program because I'm well liked by professors and classmates for being funny in class as well as acing almost all my exams. I even regularly get asked for help( a lot of the time by pretty girls) more often than I think my TAs do. It's not at all my job, I'm not the most charitable person, and I try to treat everyone the same by never being overeager to help so I've started replying to requests with " Take me to dinner/ Buy me a drink and I'll think about it." I've done this maybe four times right before quarantine and ofc I'm not getting a blowjob in the nearest parking lot (yet) but at least on 3 occasions will I get a text later without me initiating conversation with the girl saying something like, " That was so fun. You're really cool and we should hang out again" with one even referring to it as a "date". It seems to really depend on how much I turn on the charm or keep them in my frame. during our time together. Worst case scenario so far has been that I get a free meal/drink. Feel free to leave a critique below. I know this isn't a genius strategy or even at all complex so I won't get butthurt if you think it's beta or stupid.
