be supportive, people you know dying is jarring, whether it's your ex or the cashier at the grocery store. nobody likes being reminded of mortality.

All depends whether you want to stay with her or not. If you do, just apply basic TRP knowledge. This is not a shit test, you need to apply comfort. Remain stoic, her rock in the storm. Don't "talk it out", just hug her. Your own thoughts and feelings about the situation, keep them for your mates and us.

When somebody my GF knew, died, or was ill or had something bad happen to then, I was supportive, this means, I said "oh, I'm sorry" and I asked a few things are that subject. Even if it was an ex, I would have asked what happened, and talked about it a little. I'm no TRP expert, but I don't see a problem on being normal and hearing what she has to say about it.

But, if she gets upset, then that's another thing, I think you probably listened to her, and you probably asked what happened. He was nothing to you, so she can't expect you to cry about it, or be sad the whole day. You probably didn't opened a champagne bottle either.

Try to remember if she's upset all the time about small things, or if she only got upset by this, if she's upset frequently, run.

I'd make it clear that I have no emotional attachment or feelings toward that person (if that is indeed the case with you; that's what I'm picking up from your post), and that her history with that person makes you uncomfortable (again, that's what I pick up from your post) and that you would like to not get involved in it.

Tell her you're understanding of her feelings and can give her time and space to get over it, but that you can't be emotionally supportive in the way that she wants. When you tell her this, don't drag it out or get caught up in how she will probably make it more dramatic than it needs to be. Be straight and to the point, and if she starts throwing you low blows and shit reiterate your point concisely and leave the conversation behind. Yes you're in a relationship but you're not her punching bag and she shouldn't blow up on you. You have a right to feel the way you feel too. Good luck

Chicks are All About the DRAMA, and that's what this is. How much of a shit are you supposed to give about some guy you never knew who was bonking your gf a year ago? She barely gave a shit abt him...until he fucking died. I mean, that's great for your catalog if you're a musician, but sux if you're a young guy.

I had a similar experience except the shit head ex didn't pass, just really messed up for awhile. I overheard my ex talking to her friend on the phone saying she didn't know if she was going to get back together with this massive shit head(she thought I was sleeping). Well, I did what any self respecting man would do. I told her to figure her shit out and get back to me later. That turned into me being single and nailing the women I had to pass on because of her.

My advice is tell her figure her shit out and go do what's best for you. Life happens, don't let it put you in a rut!
