So I'm probably going to come across as a fool here but I am trying to better myself and this is a forum of like-minded thinkers so I hope to get advice.

I am emotionally messed up right now having just being dumped by a girl I liked. We had been going out for a grand total of 2 weeks. Things were awesome, she was gorgeous and we got on so well. She was mature and the sex was great, she loved my mix of intelligence, gentleness and dominance.

The other day we both got a bit high and were talking about some random stuff when the topic of feminism came up. I treated the following as an exercise in showing someone a different side of thinking about things. She launched the conversation saying how women get payed 80c on the dollar compared to men. Now she is a medical student so aught to understand evidence and facts. I gently refuted her claim saying how does she think that the women doctors get payed less than the men. "No" she replied, just CEOs and other high powered jobs. I outlined the usual BS - average hours worked and how the stats are misleading etc. The conversation kept going and I was sure to agree with her how women are systematically discriminated against just so I didn't come across as a sexist pig. I outlined how men are 4x more likely to commit suicide, more likely to be homeless etc.

Now, I wouln't normally discuss this stuff with anyone but I really just wanted to show her that men also have it rough in some areas.

Anyway she went away for the weekend, I texted her to come over tonight and she said to meet her at a cafe. As soon as she said that I knew shit was up. She carefully told me how she likes me but we see the world differently and feminism is a core belief of hers and she can't see us going anywhere because of what I had said. I was quiet for a bit and then said that I was just trying to have a conversation with her etc but she didn't really budge so I said it was nice knowing her and said goodbye.

Obviously I feel pretty stupid. I can see that we need to see the world for what it is but that the majority of society wont see it that way and wont even entertain the idea that the way society sees things is wrong.

I feel so bad right now. Bad that I lost her over such a stupid thing like a slight difference in opinion. I can see that she interpreted my facts as something akin to hate speech or hating women.

So now I'm going to go for a run and get on with improving myself.

Does anyone have any advice on how to handle this next time? Agree and then change topics? I feel that I spoke the truth which I suppose is good but perhaps its often best to keep that to yourself. I would also appreciate some advice on how to not feel so shit. Obviously have multiple girls I could turn to but unfortunately I'm new to this city and that isn't an option right now.
