Got this girls number today, invited her on a hike my friends and I were planning for next week. She had this energy like she was excited I was asking, and said yes.

Texted her, told her the plan was Monday, she tells me she can't go till the 23rd with a smiley face

In my mind I'm saying wtf is going on, but I just confirm she isn't coming and leave her with the last text.

I am quite bummed, but not all hope is lost. I've never been in a relationship before. So I'm here to ask, how should I go about preserving that enthusiasm?

For the record, I don't think she's B.S.ing me. But there's always a chance.
