I need a straight forward answer to this, no sugar-coating, etc. (I'm 17 for context)

I've posted pics of myself online on different subs about rating appearances and I've got 7-8 mostly (mostly using indoor lighting)

I've had multiple people I know rate me as like a 7-7.5 around that area.

I've had girls compare me to decent looking actors.

I've had two girls literally do a double-take and start staring at me as I sat down on the bus a few days ago and then they approached me and asked for my number later on. (They were too young so I turned them down)

I've only had 1 gf so far in my senior year of HS and she friend-zoned me at first until she caught feelings (cause I stopped being a pussy and started caring about my appearance far more most likely.)

Last night I had pics taken of me and I looked extremely good (like almost at least an 8 or above) in the camera flash (which most people say they look ugly in) but obviously that's not what I look like every day. The photographer said I looked pretty close to a model in one of them.

But the issue is, anytime I see myself in harsh natural sunlight, my skin looks like absolute shit from acne and a bit of shitty skin genetics, as well as dark circles under my eyes, make me look like a pussy. Like I'd rate myself a solid 3 at times in certain natural lighting. But, I was in natural light when those two girls approached me on the bus so clearly I can't be that ugly.

How is it possible for such a stark difference in looks and how the hell am I supposed to tell if I'm decent looking to have proper confidence? If I asked anywhere else on Reddit, I'd get a "looks don't matter" response so I feel like here's the best place to ask.
