Your question is very clever. You asked what red pillers define as alpha, not what the red pill defines as alpha. Very good!

It is what you make of it. I find it most important to understand that there is no "being alpha", no matter how many people try to tell you. Anyone's "alphaness" is what others see in them. No one "is" alpha, but may be perceived as alpha in one or more areas of life.

All in all, it's a pretty useless and boring topic. But there are some generic idea's that most people agree to, but mostly fail to act to accordingly or fail to translate into the experience in everyday life. Also there some variance in the different societies people live in. I'd recommend that you read The Rational Male's essays about "alpha" instead of relying on people repeating everything for you.

"Alpha" and "Beta" do not exist. They are both ideas to describe behavior that is either effective or ineffective socially and sexually.

You can also think of "Alpha" and "Beta" as a spectrum of SMV. This spectrum is dynamic to a multitude of factors, your ever changing self, the culture you are present to, your social presence, the list is endless.

In TRP "Alpha" is reffered to as a Chad, a man who has a harem of women and ease of access to more women; IE high SMV.

A "Beta" is reffered to as Beta Bucks, a man who has limited access to women and provides to a women who may or may not reciprocate with sexual favors, in lieu of prolonging their relationship; IE low SMV.

Think of Robert Downey Jr, that's probably the best way I can explain it TL;DR to a layman.

It's someone who can handle any social setting with their dominance of the social atmosphere. There are a million traits that give men this ability but at the root of it is confidence. On TRP you'll find posts on lifting to achieve that and you'll even find more nuanced looks at small things you might be doing that showcase insecurity. Getting laid a lot etc is not the mindset you should have because it is outcome dependent which is antithetical to the purpose of being an alpha. Getting laid a lot is a result of being an alpha man, not the goal.

Yes, overall it seems to be experiences and opinions. I like these, but I’m also into theory and developing methods to move forward. Not theory as in simply” theorizing”, I mean theory as in understood knowledge and well supported. I think maybe Alpha is more of a male idealism we either knowingly or unknowingly attained or continue striving for or need to update as society’s culture changes.
