So a close friend of mine and his ex split up in early April. Dude was a complete mess, I went through something similar and it brought me here, I’d like to think I know how he felt. Anyway, dude was in bits for a solid month and then he seemed to finally get over it, he’s been meeting other girls just to fuck or go on dates. I was happy for him since he seemed pretty good after he’d cried it all out.

He told me his ex was trying to contact him, I just said block but he won’t for whatever reason. She spoke to him sometime this week (details are a little hazy) and they had as far as I know a regular conversation. I used to be a fan of the girl but she treated my boy like SHIT. He told me she ended it due to getting a job with an airline company, apparently that’s been put on hold; at this point I told him that really shows how little he was to her but he persists nonetheless. Additionally, 2 months after they broke up she was on holiday, just her and 1 guy, who is supposedly an old friend. I’ve told him time and time again to just block and move on but he is somehow thinking it’d be different this time.

I want to just leave him to his own devices and let him do it again, but this has been my best friend for over a decade and I don’t want him to go through it all with the same outcome. I’m not really sure how to further this, or what to do to convince him this is a bad idea. I don’t think he’s even planned the event she says no to trying again, I told him then he looks like an idiot but it’s just not getting through.
