Depends on your personality.

Anyone that talks negatively to me I treat like a child.

If I was fat and someone called me fat I’d probably laugh because the dude has problems and if that’s his way of venting that’s fine, it’s funny to me.

I’m 17 and lift so I get the “go do your steroids” a lot which doesn’t irritate me but it’s a neg, in response I always tell them they can help me shoot up in my ass if they’re so interested. (I don’t do steroids)

I’ve only ever responded violently in response to physical attacks.

but yes, with any of those problems you can just ignore them. It’s a neutral response.

You can't control what other people do, only what you do

If someone is publicly humiliating someone because they are fat, they are a shitty person. And you shouldn't care what shitty people do

The only option is to ignore, or have a quick and witty come-back, but that's not always an option
