Being in a frat isn’t an all access pass to every woman on campus. It gives you some good opportunities to meet them and maybe do things that get them into you. Like having a gym membership.

How much it "matters" to be in a fraternity depends on the school. There are some Unis where Greek life rules the social scene and there are some where it is simply parallel.

I was on a sports team and in a house while at uni and I can tell you that the team also served a bit of a social function - the team had its own parties and sometimes had mixers with sororities.

At uni, just as in regular life, you should do things because you want to do them, not because you do them to get pussy. I enjoyed playing sport and so I was on a team. The fact that the time had awesome parties and such was secondary to the sport.

Similarly, I was in a house because I wanted the camaraderie that came with it. A big chunk of the guys I keep in touch with from uni are my fraternity brothers. There are other friends I have from back then, but those relationships are a bit more tenuous because there was no unifying element.

Was being in a house fun? You better fucking believe it was. Looking back now, he parties we had were insane - actually, I think we'd get thrown off campus for them, now. A number of times guys who had been in the house years before might drop by with extra tickets to concerts or sporting events (I do the same thing now, when I'm in town.) Socially, it was a plus, because it gave you an automatic "in" with sororities - we'd have "mixers" either one-on-one or a four-way with another house and two sororities. That said, it wasn't my only social outlet, and my uni LTR wasn't Greek.

We also had guys doing work study all over campus, so if you needed a favor somewhere, there might be a guy who could help. There's a guy I used to work with who I didn't have much in common with. He and I had to work on a long project together, and in the course of discussions, it turned out he was one of my brothers - different school, different state, different time frame, doesn't matter, it helped the relationship going forward.

Ultimately, you have to decide what is right for you. I wouldn't trade my experience of anything. That said, I was also in a top house, and the guys were good at having each other's backs. What matters for you may be different at your school, so make your own decision. Good luck.

Depends on the school. If you’re high smv girls will just assume you’re high status. Some girls will only bang guys in frats. Doesn’t mean much of a difference. I’m in a top frat at a huge party school and the few low smv guys I know in top frats barely get laid.

Frat girls generally go for frat boys, sure. Generally no other types of girls really dig the beer-pong "bro" thing.

Frat girls can be fun, tho.
