So I've been going through the sidebar and as somewhat of a veteran I can agree with a lot of the stuff there, but not all. The context of this question is mostly online dating, just to clarify.

It's obvious that physical appearance is key and as someone who's been lifting for 10+ years I got that covered. What about the other stuff? For instance I play a guitar, would it make any difference if I add a picture of that to my profile? I've read about a study where a guy did cold approaching girls with 3 scenarios: carrying a gym bag, guitar or nothing. He scored highest rate of phone numbers with the guitar and coincidentally least with the gym bag.

Sending the first message. So I've seen the suggestion to just send "Hi" - the reasoning is that if she likes your abzz she'll respond either way and also you don't look desperate for attention with a more elaborate message. I've also seen argument that a witty tailored first message will score higher response rate. This however contradicts the first, short approach. So if you're a guy who's wit/tease skills are good, should you use it or play the "serious alpha" instead?

Calling her. To me this one is obvious, but still interested in hearing opinions. Back in the day calling was a must, because it would at the very least weed out 14 year olds pretending to be 10 years older and all kinds of freaks who are not always women if you know what I mean. Also more to the point - apparently I have that typical masculine voice that most females would compliment. I would dominate the call with few words just on the basis of that alone.

So, physical and short only or use what other strengths you have as well to maximize the conversion rate?
