former beta orbiter here. been on a journey of self-improvement for the past half year and have been noticing the results this past month (internships, lifting more weights consistently, improving reputations, being looked up to, getting compliments from girls for all sorts of things). a girl in a top sorority at my school who I became "friends" with (more like beta orbiter at the time) over a year ago asked me last week to be her "date" to her sorority "semi-formal" happening in 3 weeks. girl got word of my improved reputation and how I rejected one of her sorority sisters on the spot the week bc she had asked me to go to the same event "as a friend" lol. apparently it's a big deal, they rented the events room + bar of a NFL stadium.

While i can maintain frame at social events, I feel kinda dumb about this sorority function thing, specially the part of being "showed off" to her friends (the objectification) and the explicit expectations of such an event. makes me feel like I'm not in control of the situation. don't wanna screw this up so what does the trp community recommend for sorority formals? should it be treated like any other exclusive-private party?
