TBH you sounded like a bitch her. "Just" is a bad word. "Later..." is a bitch way to say bye after demanding something.

There's no way to not seem butthurt and cancel, she out-bitched you but in a nice way by having an excuse.

Just say "ok cool see ya then". Don't be so uptight about the time(unless a chick is trying to make a date earlier or is being unreasonable).

EDIT: to cancel just say "something came up. We'll be in touch soon." or something like that.
