QUESTION: How to escalate or text this chick for a date?

You should have done it when getting her number. You got her number under the disguise of getting her number for an organization related reason. You attached "for the tickets" as a rider.

But thats in the past now, so going forward

"I actually don't want tickets. I just think you're cute. We should hang out."

Don't do this.

Saying you don't actually want tickets comes off as needy, creepy, and as if you have no courage to ask her out in person. Telling her she is cute is overinvesting and giving her validation for no reason. Saying we should hang out is suggesting instead of stating. 3 mistakes in one proposed text.

Personally I would introduce dread and not text her for the tickets at all or text/call her, period. Wait a couple weeks. That will get her hamster going about why you didn't text her. Then initiate with her and escalate/ask her out in person. But no contact until them. If you haven't already been tossed into the friend zone, your chances will increase exponentially if you continue to interact with her without escalating or asking her out. And when you ask her out, don't say "We should hang out". Don't give her ANY validation(i.e. saying she is cute). Instead, state and demand. Don't say "We should have dinner here", but instead say "I'm having dinner at so and so place, tomorrow night, be there".

The word "should" should never enter your vocabulary. When asking a girl out, you don't actually ask her out. You say what you are doing and imply that she should be there. Not say what you want to do and ask if she wants to do so as well.

She can't Uber?

For future plans I never ask a specific chick. I'd consider 3 or 4 of them, buy a spare ticket, and a day or two before the event say "got an extra ticket to _______, you're coming with me, friday 8pm, wear a dress."

If one says no, I'll pitch another. Easy.

You've gotta make your intentions known champ.

You're coming off as a pussy by admitting that you lied to get her number because you were too insecure to make a move in person. More likely than not, making a move over text will come off as creepy and beta.
