Long-time Omega, not really recovered but make a lot of money now, lost weight (5'11", 185 now), can lift a lot more than you'd think looking at me but let's be honest, genetics are EXTREMELY unkind to me. Got a new wardrobe, definitely changed my demeanor, but being in my 30s the conditioning is hard to undo, and with people I've known for a while, congruence becomes an issue. Which brings me to this:

Circle of friends includes a lot of WAGs, given our ages, and the girls have a bubbly HB7 friend that I like. Trouble is, known her for like 5 years without making a move. Her relationship with me specifically is weird. She's polite, as required in public, but far less friendly to me than to everyone else. There have been a few moments that seem a lot like IOIs, but also a number of "go away" type things that don't seem warranted.

In particular, she's an extreme hugger who needs to hug everyone goodbye when she leaves, but she will skip right past me every time. Like, literally hug the person on my left, then on my right, and everyone else at a house party of a dozen people. Never leaves anyone else out. She also tries seems to want to keep personal problems away from me, even though she's fine having all the other guys hear her talk about them. On the other hand, a couple of times she has very openly talked about dates she's been on even when I'm right there.

An optimist would say she's trying to keep me OUT of the friend zone, but one could also just call a spade a spade and say she dislikes me. I'm certainly not experienced at interpreting. I have not ACTIVELY friendzoned myself by openly pedestaling her, but we have been around each other for a long time, too...

Ok, here's what I don't want: People telling me WHETHER they'd make a move (I've decided I will) or other comments judging me or her. These provide no value. Also, "hey, wanna f___?" is not a viable approach. Her brother is a close friend, and there's some serious church in this crowd (no don't go lecturing me about AWALT, I've read a LOT of TRP in the last two years). It would just cost me a lot of friends.

I want to make an approach that isn't ambiguous, but doesn't pedestal her, and it has to be a cold approach to a long-time acquaintance and sister of a friend who resists one-on-one moments with me personally. Without blowing up my entire social circle. Which of you has the game for this situation?
