Hey guys, how's everyone doing. I found TRP just over 1 year ago, when I was 18, and have come a long way in that time. While I obviously still have a long way to go, where I used to be one of those kids who froze talking to girls and would stand against the wall at parties, I can now be the life of a party. I do things I would have been scared to do before, and don't cringe about things I do that would have embarrassed me before.

I am currently in college (2nd year), so I party a good amount. A lot of the time I can notice other guys trying to hang around me, talk like me, etc. and notice girls looking at me, and dancing up near me. The thing is, even though I feel confident when I'm out and can read how other people are viewing me, I still freeze up when it comes to approaching girls to dance, or talk to them in the library, or in classes etc. I always hamster something like "oh I have high standards she's not that attractive", or "There will be another one who's better soon", the list goes on.

I can approach guys I don't know and get them to like/respect me and if girls come up to me they end up talking/giving more iois/etc, so I think my game is pretty good, it's just the fear to go up and face the rejection or maybe it's a fear of something else. I'm not sure what is causing this mental block, because I really feel like I have everything else down (good enough) to be pulling fairly easily, especially in a college town. I'm tall, well-known in my school, slightly above-average looks, and have the personality and popular friend groups. How can I get out of my own way?

Here are my theories, let me know which one you agree with or what your own thoughts are on this.

  • Imposter Syndrome (I don't think I'm good/good-looking enough for the attention I get)

  • No Prize Mentality (I am still mentally trying to get other people to like me instead viewing myself as the prize)

  • Anything else you can think of?

What should I do guys? How do I get over this hump and bring everything together? Thanks in advance bros.
